My name is Brian and I am the Full Metal Chef. I am a private chef and culinary instructor in the Phoenix, AZ area. Food has always been a passion of mine. The kitchen is a place where I can let my imagination and creativity run free. When I was about 10 years old my Aunt Barbara gave me my first cookbook. This sparked a desire in me that as continued into adulthood. Originally from the San Jose, CA area, I relocated to Phoenix, AZ to pursue my dream of culinary school. I graduated from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute with a degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts in 2002.

I am fascinated by other cultures and their flavors. I enjoy experimenting by blending different spices and oils to create unique flavors. I try not to make the same dish twice, except for a couple staples I have. I am always trying to improve each recipe and find the best flavor combinations. The greatest sense of accomplishment is watching others enjoy what I have created.

 

When I am not in the kitchen, I enjoy music and playing guitar. I find a lot of inspiration when I am outdoors, hiking or camping with my family. I am a strong family man and love spending time with my two boys and their mom. I am constantly trying to get the boys out of their comfort zones and try new things. My girl is very adventurous, and she encourages every new adventure I take on.
